Got this e-mail from Mary Buck. Hi-I'm a big fan of your
column in the Gazette and also I'm on the Farmers Market Committee, which is trying
hard to make Farmington a fun destination spot on Saturdays. Its nice to learn
about local music through your words. Just wondered if you could mention in
your column that the Saturday Farmer's & Artisans Market is a nice place to
listen to music from around 11-2 -bring a blanket to spread out on the park.
We have a great local favorite, Jill Jack, winner of 12 Detroit Music Awards performing
at the Pavilion on July 29 with Bill Brandt from 11:30 - 2:00 p.m. along with a
Fruit Carving demo by a local chef named Doug St. Souver, who will wow you with
his cutlery skills. We also showcase the talents of the Hummingbirds, an Alt Country
duo that have become a Pavilion Favorite. They will be at the July 8 market
from 11-2. The market is starting to crank up-so
come eat your veggies, Ben E and consider organizing a strolling market acoustic
band of locals for us one of these days.
Joe Podorsek is a Motown Guitar player. I call him a Funk Cousin as opposed to one
of the Funk Brothers who were in the Motown Records band and movie. He now owns
the vacuum cleaner store on 24454 Grand River four blocks west of Telegraph. Back
in the day he was also a guitar teacher one of his students named Ted Nugent sent
him this e-mail.
Joe, when you hear my new songs "GIRLSCOUT COOKIES"
& "BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED DAUGHTERS" you will once again witness why God made
guitars, especially hand crafted arched top Gibson Byrdlands in Kalamazoo @1960.
My new lix are the ultimate!! See ya this summer!! TED NUGENT.
