Babble, babble, babble, as I often do.
But this column is much better with your
input. When you hear something of interest, a good rumor, trouble at city hall,
a road that needs repair, tax money being wasted, an event, car show, festival,
fundraiser, dance, music, an interesting person or place even a good place to eat,

That being said it is becoming more and more apparent I am a caveman living in the
stoneage and there is just things I shouldn't know about.
My wife wants to pay a
kid $30 to cut my lawn. I have a $150 water bill and if I water my grass the water
bill will go up and the kid will have to cut the grass more often.
Caveman finds it hard to believe 4.5 million is not enough to run a library. We pay $500 a week for a part time temporary DAA person. Then we pay $11,000 for some
company to find a permanent director. Which most likely will be a washout from some
other city.
One government agency is spending $200,000.00 to plant new tress. Another one is
spending $50,000 to trim trees that have been planted?
Unite Airlines is in trouble so they drop the pension agreement they have with their
retirees, the government will have to pick it up. About 4 billion dollars will get
kicked around and what happens if United starts making money down the road? Will
workers get their pensions back? Will taxpayers get reimbursed? Like Kmarts did
when they dumped or went bankrupt on their stock. All the little old ladies lost
their life savings while the CEO got a 14 million bonus and now the stock is through the roof and the little old ladies still got nothing.
I have been wanting to mention Chef Tom from the Longacre House. I don't know enough
about Longacre but Tom is an energetic person who cares about people and community.
He has some events planned for the summer. I hope to get more details and they unfold
or maybe in this case as they are cooked up.
Benny and the Jets band has been playing every Wednesday and Thursday at the Last
Lap Cafe on Warren Avenue just west of Inkster Road. Wednesday is all you can eat
Alaskan King Crab night. It is also getting to be a hang out for local musicians.
Resent Wednesdays have seen Jeff from Jeff and the Atlantics, Jo Town, Mitch Manns,
Arthur Pennhollow, the Over Easy band, Air Margaritaville, sax player Fred Lorenz,
Brian Holly, Mike Mcguigan from Detroit Breakdown band, Joe Prus from Killin Machine,
and some of the guys from Mitch Ryders band.
