Column for August 19, 2004

Hmmm, people like it when I'm mad. Like the time I suggested bombing that bridge the Americans were hung from. Or when I write about crazy stuff like that skunk that sprayed my dog. The time I waited for days for AAA to tow my van. Then they told me I need the unlimited towing gold membership card and
when I said OK sign me up for the gold card they told me no, because I use the towing benefit to much.

The doctor says hmmm, you stopped taking your pills and your rash cleared up. Try taking them again and see if it comes back, that will be $90. Reminding
myself I co-host a radio show every Wednesday at 5pm on am1460 called Ask the Doctor. Where you can call in 248-332-1460 and ask the doctor a
question for free.

I hate the hypocrisy of city government that tells local business not to put up signs. Then when it comes time to get elected they all go out and put up signs. Why is it gas stations seem to be able to put up all kinds of signs, banners and flags?

I hate the idea of outlawing stuff kids do. Lets make an ordnance so that kids can't skateboard on any street or sidewalk. Then lets try to look like good guys and spend some money and build a skate park, so the kids can have a place to go. Then lets do a bait and switch after they can't skate anywhere else and we already invested money in a park, lets charge them little guys to skate. That is what they did in Livonia. Now if you have a couple of kids who want to skate a couple of days a week it is $5 per kid, per day. And if kids quit using the park, we can spend some more tax money changing it to something else. Remember Wallyball?

I don't like the government competing with the private sector. If there is a demand for movies let the private sector build movie theaters. If there is a need for housing let the house builders meet it. If your going to charge for a skate park let the private sector do that too.

I want to be a nice guy, easy going and mellow. I try to tell these kids of mine don't yell and fight, say what you want to say, but no yelling. Who was it that said don't get mad-get even?
