Column for July 29, 2004
Geez here it is 6am and not only haven't I sent my column to the paper, well I
am typing kind of on the fly. Seems every time one thing in my schedule, or my
life, changes it kind of throws everything else off.
I guess I am approaching
that age. You too? I get heartburn and I worry, is that heart attack. So of course
I run out and buy all kinds of stuff to make me healthy. Right off the bat, vitamin
E, then a strong multiple vitamin, oh ya try this Samoan oil pill, drink it all
down with some soy milk. Ahhhh, except now I have some kind of rash? Geez I think
it might be this Samoan oil?
Every Wednesday I do the Doctors on Call
radio show, on WPON.com and am1460. So you know
I will be asking the Doctor plenty of questions this week. Interestingly the station
has recently been sold. But things seem to be pretty much the same for now. That
doesn't stop the rumors that the talk oldies format might change at anytime. There
has been talk about Don Imas, Deno Day and even sports host Ron Cameron.
Lets see what other crazy things going on in my life? My band is not playing
at Jamie's. But we started playing Thursdays at the Press Box in Royal Oak. I
have to tell you Royal Oak is one of them "Cool Cities" we hear so much talk about.
Last Thursday the Royal Oak Theater, next door to the Press Box, hosted a Chancy
Buillips Detroit Pistons Party. Richard Hamilton, Kid Rock, Ch7, Ch4, seems like
a who's who of Detroit celebrities were there. Not to mention the micro mini skirted
young ladies and Hummer Limos that were lined up around the block.
Is
there a skunk season? If there is this has to be it. Everywhere I go, I see them
and worse yet I smell them. Two nights ago I witnessed a skunk fight. Just like
a cat fight. In fact as I was walking down the sidewalk, I thought it was a cat
fight. As I got closer I could see it was two full grown skunks going at it. WOW
I didn't stick around to see which one won.
